About the Founder

Meet Michael Colin Pope — the builder behind Office 168/52.

Michael Colin Pope · Founder

Office 168/52 was created from a simple belief: good businesses should not lose opportunities just because no one was available to answer, organize, follow up, or remember the details at the right moment.

Michael built Office 168/52 to help businesses stay present and responsive 168 hours a week, 52 weeks a year — not with empty AI hype, but with practical systems designed around real customers, real operations, and real work.

Built from real-world pressure

Michael's path did not begin in a polished startup incubator. It started much closer to the ground.

He began as a mechanic, learning how systems fail, how parts fit together, and how real problems get solved when someone is waiting for the answer. That early mechanical mindset never left him. It shaped how he thinks about software: every piece has to connect, every failure has a cause, and every system should be built to work under pressure.

In March 2000, Michael entered the world of finance in customer service, answering phones just as the dot-com bubble began to burst. It was a crash course in trust, fear, urgency, and communication. Customers were not calling because everything was fine. They were calling because they needed clarity, calm, and someone who could help them make sense of what was happening.

That experience became one of the roots of Office 168/52: when people reach out to a business, they are usually trying to solve something. The response matters.

Finance, software, trades, and the front office

Over the next chapters of his career, Michael worked across financial services, web development, software systems, hands-on trades, ecological materials, and small-business operations.

His finance background exposed him to environments where accuracy, documentation, reliability, and accountability matter. His years building websites and digital systems taught him how businesses present themselves, capture demand, and convert trust into action. His hands-on trade work taught him what happens when a business owner is on the job, covered in work, trying to serve the customer in front of them while another customer is calling.

Office 168/52 exists in the middle of those realities.

It is built for the business that needs to answer faster, follow up better, capture more leads, reduce chaos, and keep the customer experience moving even when the team is busy doing the actual work.

The Costa Rica chapter

In 2012, Michael moved to Costa Rica, where his love of nature, jungle ecosystems, bamboo, permaculture, and sustainable materials became a major part of his life.

He started Materiales Ambientales Ecológicos, a bamboo treatment mill, and worked around ideas of ecological construction, resilient systems, and practical sustainability. He also tended land through permaculture and deepened his respect for systems that are adaptive, durable, useful, and alive.

That chapter changed how he thinks about technology.

The best systems are not fragile. They are not built just to impress. They support the people who depend on them. They adapt. They reduce waste. They help work flow.

That philosophy is now part of Office 168/52.

Why Michael built Bob

Bob is not meant to be a cold replacement for human relationships.

Bob is being built as a front-office teammate: always available, always learning from approved business knowledge, always helping customers get answers, and always helping owners see what is happening before opportunities disappear.

Michael's background makes this mission personal. He has sat inside financial service environments where trust was everything. He has built websites where a single page could decide whether a customer reached out. He has worked in the trades where missed calls and scattered follow-ups cost real money. He has built and tended physical systems where resilience matters more than flash.

Office 168/52 brings those lessons together.

Why this matters

Most AI products are sold as magic. Office 168/52 is built as infrastructure — for owners who already know that responsiveness is not a nice-to-have, it is how trust is earned and kept.

Michael's unusual path through mechanics, finance, customer service, software, trades, sustainability, and small-business problem-solving is not a résumé stunt. It is the reason this platform is aimed at the messy middle of real operations, not at slide decks.
