Development and automation
Bring customer context into Linear without losing the point
Product feedback is most useful when it explains the problem behind the request. Bob asks the clarifying questions and prepare a Linear handoff that tells your team what the customer was trying to accomplish.
Bob turns customer feedback into a Linear issue the product team can prioritize, with the request still attached.
Make feedback specific enough to investigate
Bob separates a bug, a product question, and a feature request before it reaches the development queue. Enabled Linear tools can preserve that distinction in the issue or comment workflow your team uses. The result is a clearer starting point for triage and a better reference for future customer follow-up.
Workflows
Capture the underlying need
Ask what the customer expected and what is preventing them from completing the task.
Prepare the issue context
Use supported Linear actions to attach a concise description, useful references, and the customer impact.
Follow the permitted status
Consult enabled issue information and prepare a customer-appropriate update when the support process calls for one.
Example workflow
Example workflow
A customer requests an additional export field because they manually combine two reports every week. Bob captures the desired outcome and the workaround, then prepares a Linear issue that explains the need in terms the product team can evaluate.
Illustrative example, not a live execution log.
Connection and setup
Connect Linear, choose the supported teams and issue destinations, and define field, label, and handoff rules.
How Bob turns a conversation into a useful next step
Bob starts with the customer's request and the business information you approve. When the workflow needs a current record, Bob retrieves it from the connected service. When the next step changes a record or sends a message, Bob follows the permissions and approval steps you configure. The customer gets a useful next response, and your team gets a clear handoff when a person needs to take over.
Questions
Will Bob create duplicate issues for every customer?
The workflow should search or prepare a matching review before creating a new issue when supported. Related feedback can be attached to an existing item.
Can Bob promise a release date from a Linear status?
No. A status is not automatically a customer commitment. Use only release information your business has approved for communication.
Who decides what Bob can change or send?
You choose the records Bob reads and the actions he takes. A reply, a record update, or an outbound message follows the approval step you set for that workflow. See the pricing page for plans. This page does not list prices.
